About our tents

Every tent comes with an external canopy made of a high quality water resistant canvas in cream adorned with decorative scalloping and tassels - giving you an alternative to a clear-span PVC Marquee. Whilst on the interior, all our tents come with a cotton lining available in a wide range of colours and prints finished to the highest detail with hand wood block printing, embroidered mirrors and sequins. Choose from classic creams and subtle shades or go for lavish Bold Colors.

Wall Panels

The tents have the option of solid canvas, clear PVC or clear arched wall panels. Wall Panels are finished to the same specifications as the main tent, consisting of a waterproof cream canvas outer with the option of a separate cotton interior lining. Traditional hand block printed scalloping or Moroccan Arches with intricate Jalli printing, all with gold sequins, decorate the linings.
The walls are very versatile and can either be fully enclosed, swaged back, temporarily rolled up or fully removed to suit the weather conditions of the day.

Voile Drapes

Our tents are dressed with our voile drapes. They come in a vast array of colours to compliment any theme.
 

Flooring

Flooring is available in the form of Chittai Matting, made from a highly durable woven grass; this natural rush matting perfectly enhances the look of the tent, helps protect the lawn and can cover any surface and is even high heel proof!
Solid flooring can be provided using “pro floor” (a plastic sub floor that can be laid under our matting), should the surface be too uneven or wet for just our mats.

The art of tent making

Raj Tent

Raj Tent is a Bedfordshire based marquee company with a difference. Raj Tent

The Raj tent was one of the original three marquee interiors. The navy and cream arch patterns and ornate block printing create a homely effect, with a few added items; this interior has a real air of permanence.

Springing from a love of outdoor parties, The Arabian Tent Company was founded in 2004 by Katherine Hudson. The magic of festivals and marquee parties captured Katherine’s imagination, soon she was hooked and decided she had to try and put on her own event.

After searching the whole of the UK for a suitable party tent, and finding nothing but white PVC marquees, Katherine realised she’d have to try a little harder if she wanted to do something truly special. Now determinedto find the perfect party marquee and with a gap in the UK market found, Katherine set off on her quest to Morocco to talk to a man about a tent...

The Moroccan tent Katherine first bought (and infamously drove back to the UK strapped to the roof of her van) may not have been anything compared with the wondrous interiors The Arabian Tent Company boasts today, but it was the beginning of something new and different, and word soon spread throughout the party world and people all over the UK started to book the marquee for all sorts of festivals, parties and events.
The more tented parties Katherine put on, the more her inspiration grew. Soon she decided to design her own marquee linings and collected cushions and furniture, ornaments and feathers, candles and lanterns to adorn the interiors.

This was how the Arabian Tent Company was born, how it grew, and (for the most part) how it continues to grow today.
